Challenge
Nanopay offers a cutting-edge payments-as-a-service platform known for its seamless integration and customizable solutions to accommodate businesses of all sizes. Despite the versatility of their products, the previous website struggled to effectively guide potential customers toward the most suitable nanopay solution for their needs. Additionally, there was a lack of space dedicated to talent acquisition, a crucial aspect for nanopay's continued growth. Therefore, a primary objective of the new website was to showcase nanopay's offerings and to attract top talent vital to the company's future endeavors.
Furthermore, the website's visual presentation did not align with the innovative essence of nanopay's unique value proposition. Recognizing the need for differentiation within the competitive fintech industry, it was imperative to create a visually captivating website that would set nanopay apart from its competitors.
Approach
We started by engaging with the shareholders at nanopay to gain a comprehensive understanding of their products, vision, and the primary pain points they were facing with their old website.
Additionally, we gathered insights from nanopay's sales and customer service representatives, who provided valuable feedback on the issues users encountered on the website. This user-centric perspective was crucial in identifying specific problem areas and understanding user needs more deeply.
Together with the client, we identified two main areas of focus for the redesign:
Clearer Presentation of nanopay Products: Users needed to quickly and easily identify which nanopay products would best suit their business needs. This required a streamlined, intuitive navigation system and well-organized content that highlighted the features and benefits of each product.
Talent Acquisition: As a rapidly growing business, nanopay needed a dedicated space to showcase their mission, values, and culture to attract top talent. This section had to be engaging and informative, reflecting the innovative and dynamic nature of the company.
Our design solutions were crafted around these two objectives, ensuring that every element of the new website would contribute to either guiding potential customers towards the right products or attracting high-quality candidates.
Clearer Presentation of nanopay Products
To address the challenge of clearly presenting Nanopay's products and helping users quickly identify which solutions would best suit their business needs, I implemented several strategic design solutions:
Hero Area
Prominent Product Placement: I placed the two main products directly in the hero area of the homepage. This immediate visibility allowed users to quickly assess and decide which product might be right for their business as soon as they land on the site.
Purposeful Copywriting: We encouraged Nanopay to refine their copywriting to be more purposeful and user-centric. Clear, concise, and compelling copy guides users by highlighting the unique value propositions of each product, making it easier for them to make informed decisions.
Detailed Individual Product Pages
Business Use Cases: Each product page was designed to focus on detailed examples of businesses that can benefit from implementing Nanopay’s solutions. These real-world scenarios help potential customers visualize how the products can solve their specific problems.
Benefits and Differentiators: Together with the client we highlighted the distinct benefits of each product and how they stand out among similar payment solutions. This included emphasizing features such as the seamless API integration, which is a significant advantage for businesses looking for easy and efficient implementation.
Enhanced Demo Request Form
User-Guided Form: I created a more intuitive demo request form that guides users through the process. This form is designed to ask relevant questions that help Nanopay better understand the needs of the potential customer.
Accurate Sales Leads: By improving the demo request form, I aimed to generate more accurate and qualified sales leads for the nanopay team. This aimed to mprove the user experience but also enhance the efficiency of the sales process.
Talent Acquisition
Addressing the talent acquisition challenge was a key priority in designing nanopay's new website. We implemented several targeted solutions to attract top talent and effectively communicate nanopay's unique culture and values.
Showcasing Culture and Employee Stories
We developed a dedicated careers page that highlights Nanopay's mission, values, and workplace culture. This section includes detailed insights into what it’s like to work at Nanopay, providing potential hires with a clear picture of the company’s environment and ethos.
To create a personal connection with potential hires, we featured testimonials and stories from current team members across various departments. These authentic narratives give candidates a glimpse into the experiences and career growth opportunities at Nanopay, helping them envision their future within the company.
Authentic Photo Assets
Our team at Playground collaborated closely with Nanopay to conduct a professional photoshoot. This initiative produced a library of high-quality images featuring real Nanopay employees in their work environment.
The use of genuine team members in these visuals ensured authenticity and helped build trust with potential candidates. Additionally, maintaining stylistic consistency across all pages enhanced the overall aesthetic and professional appeal of the website.
Custom Illustrations
To elevate the visual appeal of the Nanopay website and effectively convey complex concepts, I created a set of bespoke illustrations. These illustrations serve to visually represent abstract ideas such as API integration, payment solutions, and blockchain technology in an engaging and comprehensible manner.
Given the abstract nature of these concepts, I employed an isometric grid to infuse the illustrations with a three-dimensional look. This approach added depth and visual interest, making the illustrations more engaging and dynamic.
To further enrich the illustrations, I added textures in Photoshop. These textures introduced an additional layer of visual interest, making the illustrations stand out and adding a unique touch to the overall design.
Outcomes
While specific quantitative metrics are not available, the feedback from the Nanopay team a few months after the website launch has been overwhelmingly positive. The redesigned website has successfully addressed key challenges and achieved several important outcomes.
Improved Content Structure
The revamped content structure has made it significantly easier for users to find relevant information. Users can quickly navigate to the sections that interest them, whether they are looking for specific product details or career opportunities. This clear presentation of products and the intuitive navigation system have enhanced the overall user experience, making the website more user-friendly and engaging.
Increased Quality of Sales Inquiries
The new demo request form, designed to guide users through a more intuitive process, has resulted in higher-quality sales inquiries. This improvement has streamlined the partnership process for the nanopay team, ensuring that leads are more relevant and better qualified.
Overall, the outcomes of this project demonstrate the success of our design solutions in meeting nanopay's needs and enhancing their online presence. The redesigned website not only improves user engagement and satisfaction but also supports Nanopay’s business objectives, setting them up for continued success in a competitive market.
